Rental Textbooks

To help students save money,The Ashland University Bookstore offers several options to student for renting their textbooks:

The Ashland University Bookstore In-Store Rental Program offers a select textbook title base as rental priced at 50% of the new textbook price. These books are rented on a semester by semester basis and can also provide significant savings.

The Ashland University Bookstore On-line Rental Program where books can be rented from an on-line site only and mailed directly to you. Click on the RENT AND SAVE icon below and type in the ISBN of the textbook you are wishing to rent.

Terms of Agreement and General Textbook Rental Information

Students must be attending Ashland University and have a valid student ID.

Rental textbooks must be returned at the end of the term or pay the replacement price. Payment can be made with check, cash, Visa, MasterCard, or Eagle Card.

The rented textbook is the property of the AU Bookstore and must be returned to the Bookstore in resalable condition.

The rented textbook must be returned by the last day of finals. If the book is not returned, lost, or is returned damaged and in unusable condition, a replacement fee will be charged to the student's account.

The rental fee is refundable only if the book is returned within the stated AU Bookstore Return Policy. SPRING 2018 rental books must be returned by SATURDAY, JANUARY 13, 2018 for a full refund and must be accompanied by a receipt. SPRING 2018 rentals are due to be turned back into the bookstore at the end of the semester by THURSDAY, MAY 3, 2018.

Rental have no buyback value but the "out of pocket" expense is much lower.
