Course Materials FAQ

The ins and outs of obtaining course materials for classes can be a confusing experience and the UC Davis Stores has you covered. We took our most commonly discussed subjects and broke them down into easy to read sections, as seen below. For any other questions, or for more information about a subject, feel free to email us at textbooks@ucdavis.edu.

UC Davis Rental Program

UC Davis Stores offers one of the largest rental programs in the nation. You must be a UC Davis student and present your Aggie card at checkout. All rentals are per quarter/semester and need to be returned by the last day of final exams. We partner with multiple textbook wholesale vendors to bring the lowest cost possible to the students, therefore, we are unable to accept late rental returns. Students who fail to return books by the deadline will be charged.

Price Comparison

Our website will list pricing alongside our competitors for every title that is available. This includes third-party markets such as Amazon, Chegg, Alibris, etc. These comparisons are shown in real-time and allow the student to access the best possible prices. If you decide to purchase through the comparison tool, simply add it to your cart, and it will direct you to the other retailer’s site.

Price Match

UC Davis will price match new textbooks and general books.

Inclusive Access Program

The Inclusive Access program has been on the UC Davis Campus since fall 2014. Inclusive Access converts physical course materials into instantly accessible, totally interactive and adaptive digital content, while drastically reducing the cost to students. Find out more on our Inclusive Access page.

Online Textbook Order
